I am a student at the Art Institute of Charlotte. December is when I will graduate with my Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Marketing and Management. I currently work in a retail boutique where I have been for the past year. I have been working in the fashion field for over seven years and have coordinated a number of social events through my jobs. I love communicating with people. I am a talker and enjoy being around people and helping them with fashion styling, event planning, and personal shopping. I believe through my experiences in the fashion field along with social event planning I have the passion and desire to write on the social events in the Charlotte area. Through each post you will see which events are happening in the Charlotte area and how they tie into fashion and interior. Many events work through the fashion field. This blog is a great resource in wanting to improve your home, wardrobe, along with networking skills.
Chelsea Laderer: I am a student at The Art Institute of Charlotte, and I plan on graduating in December of this year with my Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Marketing and Management. I am currently a Buyer for a small family owned shoe store called The House of Shoes in Mooresville, NC. I love my job because I get to pick out shoes, jewelry, purses, and accessories for all different age groups. Its fun shopping and finding the newest styles for the store and watching people purchase what I have bought. At my job I also get to meet with different sales reps to looks at new styles for the upcoming seasons, and I also get to travel to different Merchandise Marts with the company and spend their money. My dad owns an eclectic Furniture Store/Art Gallery in South End Charlotte, called South End Home, and I also work there occasionally when he needs a hand. I will be writing the Best Deals and Steals articles for the section of InterTwists Magazine. Since I am a college student I am all about some Good Deals and Steals in the Charlotte area; I am constantly looking for unique and original items that are either marked down or aren’t too expensive, that fit my tight budget. I love checking out all of the sales racks in every store that I go into, because sometimes that’s where I find my favorite items. Each week I will be talking about different Deals and Steals in the Charlotte area ranging from fashion, home décor, home supplies, or store closing and blowout sales that we want you to take advantage of.
Fashion is all about being confident, for InterTwist magazine I will be writing for the fashion section. I plan on keeping you up to date with the latest trends ranging anywhere from color, styles, fabrics, make-up, accessories, and more. I will also give you tips on how to take classic items and turn them into trendy pieces, how to never be afraid of colors and allowing yourself to step away from neutrals. Also I will be throwing in a twist of fun ways to refresh not only your wardrobe and personal style but also for your home. I will incorporate some interior designs that you can use to bring the seasons trends and looks into your home.
Being fashionable should never be defined and it something that every women can be. I hope to help you find your inner “Fashionista” with the clothes your wear or how you design your home.
My name is Janotta Fernanders; I am a student at The Art Institute of Charlotte. I will graduate in the fall with a Bachelors degree in Fashion Marketing Management. I am a very outspoken and eclectic person. I take pride in family values. I strongly believe that one can accomplish any goal if they first set then second put their mind to it. I currently work part time at a retail store, where I have been for almost a year now. I feel me working part time, as a visual aid will help me in the future to be a better stylist. I have a passion for fashion, and I just recently discovered my newfound passion for interior décor. In my 3 years attending The Art Institute of Charlotte, I have participated in many fashion shows and photo shoots. I have worked with local designers in styling their photo shoots and working hands on backstage at the fashion shows. In doing these activities I have realized that interior décor plays a vital part in fashion. A photo shoot requires both fashion styling and interior décor. I have grown to love them both the same. I feel that by combining the two can make for a very fashionable décor place. I have a bold personality, and I love to show my personality in both fashion and home décor. I have a desire to bring both elements of fabulousness together as one. I plan to do that in the interior section of the InterTwist Magazine.
